Over the past 61 years ALPS has been a leader of aquatic activities that promote fun, fair play and sportsmanship. We have grown from 4 to 22 participating clubs, and expanded from competitive swimming to include water polo, synchronized swimming and diving programs for more than 4000 young athletes.
We could not have accomplished this without our dedicated volunteers. Volunteers who have cared for our community-oriented organization and have had the vision to help it grow. As we look to the next sixty years, we need your help to keep our ALPS family strong.
As you know, ALPS is a 100% volunteer run association. Our current executive committee consists of 15 members, of which only three have children participating in ALPS activities today. At this year’s AGM, there are three vacant executive positions up for election:
- PRESIDENT
- WEBMASTER
- DIVING COORDINATOR
The current President and Webmaster have kindly agreed to shadow the new members for the full year to ensure continuity and support. We ask that all ALPS Reps forward this call for nominations to their pools communities.
Anyone can be nominated or you can nominate yourself. Please forward the Names of the Nominees by 12:00pm on May 1, 2019 to Janice O’Dette, ALPS Secretary: secretary@alpsaquatic.ca
A list of all nominations will be sent to the ALPS Representatives and current Executive members on May 2, 2019 in preparation for the AGM on May 3, 2019.
